Through the years I have built up a 'little black book' of hotel, supplier and airline connections, all my contacts are invaluable when offering my clients that extra VIP touch or requesting that room with the best view.
I have been a travel agent for over 19 years, but my real passion for travel started as a child. Before my five siblings and I were born, my parents travelled extensively. I can remember sitting for hours flicking through the enormous photo albums from their travels throughout Europe and on to Asia. Maybe it was the glamour of the 70s VW Camper set into the Italian Alps, or my parents in their matching Ray-Ban’s at the top of the Great Wall... either way, I was hooked and couldn’t wait to travel the world myself!
I joined the industry as an apprentice in a high street Thomas Cook store in Sussex. Within two years I was working in their City of London flagship store where I won a Customer Service Award.
After five years at Thomas Cook I took the leap into an independent leisure and business travel agency in Blackfriars - they were later acquired by an American travel management company. Here I ran the Luxury Leisure department, where I booked tailor-made leisure and business trips till I left five years later. During this time, I took the opportunity to work from the New York head office to expand on my global knowledge.
Prior to starting my business I worked in Roadshow, Events & Marketing roles across different financial services sectors in the City of London. As well as time spent at a boutique hotel specialist and luxury villa agent.

Thanks again so much for your help with our recent holiday.
You made a nightmare situation so much easier to deal with as I didn’t have to spend time running around making the return flight changes and arrangements with hotel etc. All I had to do was chat to you on WhatsApp and you took care of the rest despite it being middle of the night on good Friday! This allowed us to concentrate on dealing with the hospital and looking after our daughter.
Your help and advice whilst booking the holiday was already really valuable. However your help when the sh*t hit the fan out there was absolutely priceless!

Thanks for all your help and organisation with booking our brilliant holiday. It was wonderful! We had an absolutely perfect time. Our first holiday in over two years, and I was strangely stressed about the whole thing in the lead up, expecting there to be many bumps in the road. Its been a hectic 12 months, in particular at the start of 2019 and the job of narrowing down options for our family holiday kept getting knocked further down the to-do list, when lets face it, it should be at the top! I knew I had to do something different and I remembered I had read recommendations for Lara on LinkedIn and wondered if she might be able to help. Best move I’ve made in years! We had the most seamless, enjoyable, beautiful holiday ever and we have Lara to thank for that. From our first conversation, I felt a weight lifted from my shoulders. She listened to my spec and hit the button pretty much straight away. Communications were concise and easy to digest. All the information I needed was easy to access and questions were answered before I needed to ask them, amendments swiftly made and without hassle. Every part of the process was simple. The Travel Counsellors APP is perfect. So clear and easy to use and there is no added premium for the delight of having Lara at the helm of the ship. She’s a dream and she’s there, every step of the way. Our welcome note at our first hotel was just a little but lovely touch. I really felt like I had my own personal travel agent – celebrity service in my opinion. Next trip is already booked – Krakow for the weekend in October. And now we’re looking at options for Summer 2020. Italy methinks, or maybe Vietnam, or France, wherever it is, near or far, by plane, train or automobile, I know she’ll be able to help. I cannot recommend Lara enough.

I had the pleasure of working with Lara many years ago in travel. When I saw that she had set up doing this the timing could not have been better.
I had been searching for my honeymoon to New York.
