My name is Maggie, and I am passionate about travel. I have recently moved to Verwood in Dorset, to enjoy the local countryside and be closer to the sea. I have worked in the travel industry for over 40 years now, of which 30 of those years I have had my own travel business as a Personal Travel Counsellor. I offer a one-to-one personal service to tailor-make the perfect holiday for you.
I have experience in both leisure and business travel. As a Travel Counsellor, I use award-winning technology provided and supported by a world-leading independent travel company to find the exact travel arrangements that suit you. I have access to many different suppliers which helps me source the best options for your individual needs and budget. Everything I book is financially protected by the Travel Counsellors’ Financial Trust.
I have been lucky enough to visit many wonderful destinations such as Borneo, Australia, New Zealand, India, Mexico, Dubai, Thailand, Singapore, and Bali. In the Indian Ocean the Maldives and Sri Lanka. I’ve had adventures in Africa including South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania, and Egypt. In the USA I’ve explored many states and cities including Florida, California, Boston and New York. I’ve enjoyed relaxing, sailing and diving in Caribbean islands including the British Virgin Islands. Closer to home, I’ve visited many destinations such as Italy, Spain including the Balearic and Canary Islands, Greece mainland and islands, Croatia, Portugal, France and Iceland.
I love my job and I pride myself on my customer service and attention to detail, taking care of all my clients’ travel needs from start to finish. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip. We were warmly welcomed by everyone, and the hospitality made us feel very comfortable. The organization was nearly perfect, just like our trip to Bali.
Our guide, Ruwan, took excellent care of us, and Columbus Tours regularly checked in to ensure everything was going well.
The places we visited were fantastic. We found Sri Lanka to be even more breathtaking than Bali. The two safaris were the highlights for us; experiencing the animals in their natural habitat was truly impressive.
All the hotels were good to fantastic, and we especially loved our accommodation in Mirissa. At times, we were completely alone and had the whole villa to ourselves.
We are very satisfied with our honeymoon. Thank you for the great planning!

Updates to room at Gillieru, Malta, have vastly improved comfort. Pool, snack bar, reception service excellent and not overpriced. Balcony view of harbour a delight. Transfers reliable and quick. St Paul’s Bay and Buggiba perfect for Malta experience. Local carnival great fun. Gym nearby friendly and accessible. Highly recommended.

I never envied Maggie the challenge of listening to our various requests from the family members as to where to go and what to do and then consider our budget!
